SCHOOL OF NURSING
High-Impact Practices Development Grant recipient Priscilla Simms-Roberson used her award to create simulated prescription medicine bags similar to those a patient would bring to an appointment with a nurse practitioner. Nursing students then went through the bags, created med lists, determined disease diagnoses, and identified medication interactions. They further assessed whether the patient was on the correct treatment regimen, considered polypharmacy issues, and made recommendations for medication changes.
